Dr. Gordon James Klingenschmitt is a former elected Representative in the Colorado State Legislature, taught as affiliate faculty at Colorado Christian University and served honorably as a 20-year military veteran who graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Political Science. He made national headlines as the former Navy Chaplain who dared to pray “in Jesus’ name.” An ordained Pentecostal minister, he earned his PhD in Theology from Regent University.

Dr. Chaps is a well-traveled motivational speaker, having appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, The 700 Club, PBS, 300+ radio shows and 200+ churches in 28 states, telling his true story of being vindicated by Congress after demanding his own court-martial after taking a stand for the rights of military chaplains to pray publicly “in Jesus’ name.”

By sacrificed his 16-year officer career, million dollar pension and demanding his own trial for the “crime” of worshipping in public, he inspired over 300,000 petitioners, 35 pro-family groups and 75 Congressmen who mobilized to overturn the national military “non-sectarian prayer” policy, restoring the rights of military chaplains of all faiths to pray publicly, in uniform, according to the dictates of their conscience, even if they pray “in Jesus’ name.”

Dr. Chaps’ national organization, The Pray In Jesus Name Project, has delivered over 5 million petitions to Congress supporting pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-freedom causes and has overturned government bans, restoring free speech and religious liberty in 13 states.

Pray In Jesus Name Ministries has fed more than 300 orphans and children overseas and cares for widows and homeless veterans, while broadcasting the Gospel daily across the United States.
